Actana began as a fork of an open-source workflow project. We rewrote the sandbox and agent runtime from the ground up, replaced the assistant system entirely, removed the prior project's enterprise modules, and built our own — including governance, the Crew catalog, and our deployment story for regulated teams.
The result is a workspace purpose-built for teams that need AI agents in production: visual building, conversational editing, code-level extension, and the controls security and compliance teams expect.
